Much of the prep work was done remotely, and Teresa showed up fully prepared first at a run-through in San Francisco, then at Laughing Tiger Studio in San Rafael. She brought high energy to the role, bringing grit and funk, soaring improv or introspection where necessary. One of my favorite pieces she brought her individuality to is the ballad, The Nature of Dreams.
In addition to expressiveness and interpretation, it was also clear how deeply Teresa understood the mechanics of singing and the overall language of music and musicians. On top of all that she was an absolute pleasure to work with.
